Domino Terminology Used in Jamaica

Bones — the tiles. Nobody at a Jamaican table says 'tiles'.

Pose — the opening play of a round. To pose is to set the first bone.

Pass / knock — you can't match either end, so you rap the table and play moves on.

Block — nobody can play. Lowest pip count in hand wins the game.

Six-love — winning all six games of a match before the other side wins one. Traditionally the losers crawl under the table.

Cut-throat — every player for themselves, no partners.

Slam — bringing a bone down hard to make a point. Both a play and a performance.

Boneyard — the pile of undrawn tiles. Empty in the classic Jamaican block game.

Double / spinner — a tile with matching ends, played crossways in some variants.

Gwaan bad — you're playing extremely well. Also the name of the game.
